It's Thursday!

It’s Thursday! Today signifies that the weekend is closing in. Since the weekend puts us all in a good mood, why not go out and do something for Mother Nature? She’s too often neglected. Pick up some trash, sort your recyclables – every bit helps! I was watching the news a while ago, and they were talking about buzz words that were “out” this year. ‘Green’ was one of them. Well, at the risk of sounding “outdated”, it is time we all jump on the green bandwagon!

As a company, it is easy to say that you’re “green”, “environmentally friendly” and “resourceful”. It is much harder to prove it. As Robert Langdon, the environmental consultant for Kaizer Meadow says, “ being green and saying you are green are two different things”. At Kaizer Meadow, we invest in the best technology so that we can better sort garbage from recyclables, recyclables from compost, etc. We believe that we are accountable for all waste that enters the Waste Management Facility, and that none of it leaves except for something we intentionally send away. We’ve purchased a state-of-the-art Alternate Daily Cover Machine (read about it here) to ensure that no garbage flies of the landfill cell. We’ve also invested in Canada’s first GPS compactor (read about it here). The compactor is equipped with a GPS system and allows the operator to see when the waste is fully compacted to industry standards in a fraction of the time it took with the previous machinery.

In the Eco Park, the companies will (hopefully) have access to renewable energy – wind tests are being conducted right now to determine the feasibility of having a wind turbine to power the site. All materials will be recycled and the waste will be minimal. As far as Rainbow Net and Rigging is concerned, everything they use will be reused somehow. Copper will go to a smelter. Condemned ropes? Sent for use in the lobster fishing industry. Algae off of the nets? Used in compost, and the list goes on.

Well I must be off to finish my day. Have a wonderful Thursday, and I hope to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it !
